Picking Strawberries at Grannie's House - June 2021

Last Summer (2020), I visited Grannie and Papa with the girls and Rose was obsessed with the fact that Grannie has strawberries growing on plants in her backyard. We spent the entire trip in the backyard while Rose picked every single strawberry (whether it was red, white, or green) and ate them all leaves and all.

She loved it so much that I'm pretty sure it became one of her core memories and she has been waiting all year for the strawberries to come back so she could come eat them all again. She asked me every month, and I told her that we would go to Grannie's house in June to pick strawberries, and she kept very careful track of when June was going to be here.

Anyway, in June we went to Grannie's house and the strawberry patch was just as exciting as it was last year, but this year Rose did not eat the white and green strawberries or the leaves on top. But she still ate a TON of delicious strawberries. And she shared a very small few with Lucy, who had to learn how to find her own strawberries.

I love watching Rose do something that makes her so so so happy. She likes that she can pick them by herself, carry her cup around, and fill it up, and then sit on the porch to enjoy eating all of them. It's very very cute. And I love getting to use that time to spend time with my grandma while we watch the girls play.

I'm for sure going to have to plant lots of strawberries when we have our own yard someday! (And I think I'll grow raspberries for myself too.)
