December Snow Day

I am not a huge fan of the snow, but I have to admit that it is beautiful. We had a few snow days in December that were VERY snowy. More than Provo normally gets. The girls, of course, were thrilled about it, and desperately wanted to go outside to play. Since Ryan is the one who grew up in Utah and loves snow so much, I felt like he should have been the one to take them out to play, but he was always at work when the sun was up, so it fell upon me to take them outside in the snow.

On this particular day, we bundled up and went out into the yard. And I decided that a walk would be a more fun way to enjoy the snow, so we walked at Lucy's pace around the whole block. It was very slow going... They both spent the time eating snow, looking at their footprints, and we even made a very small snowman with a very small carrot for a nose.

These two cute bundled up girls definitely made it worth it to walk around in the snow. They make everything 100 times cuter.

Christmas Tree Photoshoot

After we got our tree set up, I tried to do a Christmas-y themed photoshoot with the girls looking at/decorating the tree. It didn't turn out the way I hoped, and as a result, I took almost 2 months to get around to editing the pictures. But, I did get some pretty cute photos of the girls, even though it didn't turn out the way I had planned in my head.

December is such a magical month. I loved having our Christmas tree up all month. It made me so happy to wake up in the morning to a living room lit up from the warm lights on our tree. Rose was devastated when we had to take the tree down and put it on the curb for the garbage to collect. For almost 2 weeks she kept telling people that Ryan threw our Christmas tree away in a very sad voice. Rose took it upon herself to be the "keeper of the tree" and was very invested in making sure each ornament had a good place on the tree and stayed there (no matter what her 18 month old sister had in mind.) I loved watching her spend so much time scrutinizing the tree and look closely at the lights all month long because she loved working on it so much.

Lucy was less interested in the tree, but she did love a few of the sparkly and shiny ornaments. And she tried her hardest to hang ornaments up like Rose, but she couldn't quite figure it out this year.

It was a pricey little tree, but it was well loved for the 6 weeks that we had it in our living room. ❤️
