April 2022:
- We turned Rose's crib into a toddler bed and painted it teal (and then dealt with the challenge of getting her to stay in her bedroom at night instead of waking me up every night around 3 am...)
- Along with that, we started the transition of Rose from naps to quiet time (also a big adjustment).
- We spent time with Grandma Pamela and Grandpa Lyle and tried out his new bounce house and ate delicious cotton candy.
- We played outside in our backyard in the warmer weather a lot and picked lots of dandelions (and watched my daffodils and tulips grow!)
- Lucy got sick a few times, including on her 2nd birthday and my birthday :(
- We went camping in near Goblin Valley with Ryan's family. (and took some maternity pictures while we were there.) ((And I was a grumpy very pregnant mom in the third trimester).
- Rose did tumbling tots on Mondays and Wednesdays for the month of April and hated it. I was so sure she would love it and then they asked her to do a somersault (with lots of assistance) and that was it for her. Every class was just petrifying for her after that, even though 98% of the activities were super fun for her.
- We learned how to make delicious homemade blueberry syrup for pancakes.
- My birthday was on Easter and Lucy was sick that weekend, so we did an Easter egg hunt in the backyard and made a big chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. My dinner request was to eat BLT's outside as a picnic so we had that to eat as well.
- For Easter, we gave the girls new swimsuits, matching sandals, and some favorite candies. (Peach rings, pocky sticks, starbursts, and Hershey's chocolate bars.)
- At the end of the month, I went on a one day girls trip to Salt Lake with my cousin, Katie, and my friend Bette where we stayed in a funny airbnb, went to The Leonardo museum, had dinner at Saffron Valley, dessert at the Cheesecake Factory, window shopped at the City Creek Mall, breakfast at Eva's Boulangerie, and then bought baby clothes at DI.
