Bilbo Falls - August 2021

This hike is one of Ryan's family favorites. It was one of his grandpa's favorite hikes and all his kids nicknamed it Bilbo Falls after him. We did the hike back in 2017 during a family reunion, and since then I've been trying to get Ryan to figure out where it is so we could go back. It only took us 4 years to get around to it. We invited Ryan's dad and his wife, Lisa to come with us, especially since it would be kind of a day trip since it's about an hour and a half away from where we live. We didn't really prepare ahead of time though (I'm really bad at remembering that when seasons start to change in Utah they can go from one extreme to another in no time. So, the fact that it was August didn't protect us from the freezing cold hail storm that started 5 minutes after we got to the water fall because I was expecting it to be warm and didn't bring jackets for any of us. Luckily, Lisa was more prepared and had 3 jackets to bring. ๐Ÿ˜… Thank goodness for her experience with Utah mountains!) Despite the poor weather, we had a lot of fun and then finished off the afternoon with lunch in a cute diner in Kamas.

We will definitely come back sooner than in 4 years. :)

I love this picture in black and white and in color, so I decided to share both, but the rest of the pictures I just picked one. :)

Rose has been scared of thunder ever since this hike and always asks if there will be little snowballs that hurt her when it starts to rain. Poor thing.

I love these pictures of Ryan keeping the girls warm while they eat their snacks. ๐Ÿ˜

And this one: the little arm holding onto Daddy. ❤️

This was during the hail storm, I'm going to be sad when she's too big for this.

Her facial expressions are my favorite. ❤️

Grammy Lisa brought stickers for both of the girls to play with in the car. Grandma's think of everything.

She was so proud of herself for climbing up these big rocks!

  1. Awww, poor Rose would hate the thunder storms in Florida! The black and white photos look great. I love the one of Rose with daddy after she climbed the big rocks!
