Snapshots of November - Part 2

Highlights of November:

- We had the best time celebrating Grandpa Jason's 50th birthday. We surprised him with a fun weekend eating burgers at Burly's burgers (the best burger place!), playing with orbeez water guns (not me, but everyone else), Ryan and Preston took Isaac and Jason shooting in the morning so we could bake a pineapple upside down cake and decorate the church building, and then we had everyone hide in the dark in the church building to surprise Jason. It was a stressful endeavor haha but it worked out in the end.
- On Thanksgiving, we decided that since we don't absolutely love Thanksgiving food (or have the energy/time to make the whole feast), that we would make a dinner of our favorite foods. Steak for Ryan, French fries for Lucy, macaroni and cheese for Rose, and my favorite, chocolate coconut cake for dessert (and some asparagus so we had some greens). Rose and Lucy helped me make name tags in the morning and we put a red table cloth on the table, and Rose found some dandelions that we could put in a cup to decorate with. We had a really nice day and had a great time together!
- Lucy had her first dentist appointment and did really well! She was nervous, but she was really excited to get a new toothbrush and a prize. Rose had her second appointment and did amazing. They had their appointments at the same time, so Rose was kind of on her own while I sat with Lucy and Quinn, and she was so brave! When I went to check on her she asked me to go away so she could keep watching Frozen. haha
- We visited 3 out of 4 sets of grandparents in November, which was really nice! We just missed out on seeing my parents!
- Ryan had a day off the Saturday after Thanksgiving for the first time ever! So we went to a Christmas tree lot in Springville to pick out a tree. We found the perfect tree for our small apartment. And the experience felt kind of magical. The tree lot had pretty lights strung above the trees and as we were walking in, it started snowing. It was less magical that the kids were running around like crazy people and kept tripping over the trees and falling and then crying about it, only to get up and keep running around again (and then fall again.) But it was fun, and I was so thrilled to have our Christmas tree up before December started!
